WATCH: The Prescriptions release vintage-inspired video for "She Is Waiting"

Back in March, The Deli Nashville featured The Prescriptions and remarked on the imminent release of their album Hollywood Gold, a bluesy, folk-rock album of tracks with sounds channeling classic artists like Neil Young and more recent acts like Wilco. The album is out now, and along with it, The Prescriptions have released their music video for "She Is Waiting". The video has a dreamy VHS-like quality to it, giving the simple visuals of the band a vintage look that adds a pop of color and charm. The Prescriptions take off on a month-long tour with John Paul White starting in Texas on June 6th; stay tuned for their return to Nashville on June 29th. David Smalt self-releases new song "On The Mountain"

David Smalt has released a heavy amount of tracks over the past couple of years, including the 2018 LP Fragile Magick and his single from earlier this year "Dear Old Earth". Now comes alt-folk positivity anthem "On The Mountain", the first song Smalt has written, recorded, and produced as a single unit. The one-person production matches the intimacy of the track; the song describes a rough point in Smalt's life which took place during the chaos in Charlottesville in 2017. "On The Mountain" describes the impossible feeling of trying to overcome listlessness and lack of purpose, as well as the strength that it takes to finally do it. Take a listen below. - Will Sisskind

Country up-and-comer Cotter Hill plays 06.01 at The Basement Nashville

Cotter Hill has the sound of a country artist that's played the game for years, but his first EP Sober Up came out just last year. Hill moved west from Cleveland, TN in 2016 to chase his musical dream, and already he's appeared on the iTunes Country charts, toured the Southeast, and shown up on local radio. Throughout 2019, Hill has continued to build upon his career through even more shows; in fact, you can catch him at The Basement Nashville on June 1st, where he'll perform on a bill with fellow local country artists Justin Spivey and Cameron Blackburn.
